Courtney Lockhart's capitol murder trial will begin March 29, 2010. Lee County Circuit Judge Jacob A. Walker III set the date at a hearing Tuesday.

A motions hearing was set for May 20, in which the defense is expected to request a change of venue. An earlier request by Lockhart's defense to have Judge Walker removed from the trial was denied by the Alabama Supreme Court.

According to documents from the initial hearing held last year, Lockhart confessed to abducting, robbing, and shooting Burk. However, he has pleaded not guilty.
